Team/Player Management
|
|
1. Creating a Unit
Creating a unit (or Fleet) on CUGS is very simple. Once logged into CUGS, just go to the bottom right, under the information panel. Under that panel, there is a link that says, "Create Unit." Click on that link, and it will bring you to a new page, where you simply put in the Fleets name. You will be allowed 2 races per fleet that can fly together. You can add the primary race first. After that a second race can be added by one of the admins by request. The races have to be in separate squads on your rooster. (This feature is for paid account Members only.) After that you just have your members signup on CUGS, and you add them to the roster. If you are not a paid member you must contact an admin to set up a unit. Your fleet can fly a sfc2, or orion pirates battle here. It can be 2552, opplus 3.3, opplus 3.4 or UAW.
2.
Unit Leadership
Teams may have the follwing Fleet Rank Structure: 1 Fleet Admiral - 2 Admiral - 3 Vice Admirals - 3 Rear Admirals - 4 Captains - 4 Commandors - open enrollement below this rank.
3.
Roster Management
Ladder members join teams per ladder and may only be a member of one team per ladder. Roster changes may be made on any day. In order for a player to be considered 'eligible' for a match, he must be on the a team's roster.
Once a team joins a ladder, that team has 1 week to bring their roster to the minimum roster requirement for that ladder. Failure to do so will result in immediate removal from that particular ladder.
The minimum roster requirement for CUGS is 3 members.
Any use of illegal pop-ups, downloads, mp3 files, bad HTML code, or obscene or inappropriate language or pictures on a unit page is unacceptable. A warning will be issued and if the files/code/language/pictures in question are not removed within 24 hours, the unit will be deleted. The unit can be remade, of course, but any stats the unit may have had will be lost.
4. Inactivity
CUGS League is here for the gamers. If a Fleet just wants to use the League for a place to structure a fleet then that is fine.
5. Callsigns
We do not allow any symbols in callsigns if we see / \ { } ) ( * & ^ $ # @ !" : ;< >=+-_ in any callsign, we may edit that callsign without warning..
Use of Use of profane, obscene, or racial terms or remarks in your
callsign is not acceptable.
Your callsign will be edited without warning.
Use of ASCII Characters in your callsign is also
unacceptable. Please use normal letters when creating your callsign. Callsigns containing
ASCII characters will be edited without warning.
As a CUGS member you are entitled to one (1) and only one callsign. If this rule is broken, it is a breach of the CUGS Terms and Conditions. If a player has multiple callsigns, then both (all) their callsigns will be banned as will the IP of the callsigns.
CUGS reserves the right to fine or lock callsigns for multiple infractions of the above rules.
6. Match Limitation
No Gamers will KILL each other more the three times in one day. You can only KILL the same apponent a maximum of three times in a day. Then you must wait a 24 hour period before you game against that person again. So in reallity you and another person could game a maximum of 5 times before the 3 kill max was reached.

Pre-Match
|
When in search of a match, whether it be on GameSpy, Ubi etc.If you make a room to try to get match's. It is suggested that you advertise the match as a CUGS Match. For example, 1v1 or 2v2 CUGS Match's....
If challenged, you do have a choice to whether or not you wish to accept. You do not have to accept the challenge. Do not feel pressured or intimidated by the challenger.
If two or more Units decide to play against eachother then they start terms. Once terms have been agreed on then the match can proceed into game play.
Once the game has entered space dock, then both UNITS involved are binded to play the game. Unless a agreement is made between them to walk..
Random Battle Generator is to be used only once per game. If anyone is caught doing more than one per game will be suspended for one week..

During a Match
|
|
Crashes/Drops (Players)
If a player drops
when the game is in progress, and at least 2 minute has elapsed, the team who
lost the player will have to continue under-manned, unless the opposing team agree's to go back and start the match over. If, however, a player has been killed, on either team,
the game must continue, no exception. If a player disconnects when the game is
loading, the host must abort immediately if the dropped player's team call for
an abort. The dropped player then has five (10) minutes to return. If a player
drops during the weapon selection screen, the host must abort the countdown, if
necessary, and players may sit and chat amongst each other while the dropped
player returns. The disconnected player has approximately 10 minutes in which to
return. If, after 10 minutes, the disconnected player has not returned, the unit
has ten (5) minutes to find a substitute. Further details about substitutes can
be found below. If a player drops three (3) times while the game is in progress,
he/she must be substituted, if no substitute can be found, the team or unit must
continue under-manned. There is no limit on how many times a player may drop in
the weapon selection screen."Lag is not a REASON for a player to drop from a Match. If LAG is noticed by a player and not by the other player, and the other player wishs to continue, then the match must continue."
Crashes/Drops
(Host)
If the host disconnects when the game is in
progress for the first time, and the game crash's then the game must be played 1 more time with the same host.
If the host crashes a second time, the non-hosting team or unit may
have the opportunity to host. If the non-hosting unit cannot produce a host, a
neutral host may be brought it (Or a CUGS Admin Referee or and CUGS Admin). If a host cannot be found then the game can be rainchecked.
Crashes in Singles
If a player disconnects during a 1v1 or singles match, he/she has ten
(10) minutes to return, otherwise the other participant may fill out a forfeit
form on the CUGS ladder. The same rules apply for the host as above. A Referee Admin or any CUGS Admin can host if needed.
Crashes/Drops in singles match apply to the same as Unit matchs.
Substitutes
A substitute may take the place of
another player teammate if needed. Substitutes must be from
the same unit or from an allied unit. A maximum of two (2) substitutes may be
used in any one match (except for single's match's, where no substitutes can be
used). The substitute may inherit the amount of kills the disconnected player
had, if he/she wishes. A substitute may take the place of another player in the
match anytime throughout the match.
Kill Count
In any match type,
the winners will report a kill for each opponent that was defeated. If in a 3v3 match 1 player on either side kills 1 player but the team still loses the match he gets granted that kill. Experience level is aquired by the number of kills you add up over time. 0-10 EXP1, 11-25 EXP2, 26-52 EXP3, 53-149 EXP4, 150-300 EXP5, 301-649 EXP6, 650-1100 EXP7, 1101-1899 EXP8, 1900-2500 EXP9, 2500+ EXP10
Draws
If the game cannot be finished because both ships are destroyed past the point of being able to destroy one and other. The the match is called a draw and both members can replay or walk away.
Screenshots/Reply
CUGS recommends
that player's take screenshots at important events, such as results screens,
suspicions of cheating or of profane or foul language. This is hard
evidence and will help in any investigations that CUGS may have to carry out.
Please take a screenshot of the final results screen. If a player does not
confirm a match, this screenshot is proof that the match existed and was
completed. Without the screenshot nothing can be done by an admin. Failure to do so could result in a person getting the credit he/she does not deserve.
General Behavior
CUGS enforces fair play for everyone. Any forms of profanity, bad
language or racism remarks are not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Anyone
found doing this when in CUGS matches, on the CUGS site or forums will be dealt
with severely.
|
|
|
|
Mod Testing
|
|
CUGS supports CUGS UAW mod ONLY. CUGS does not allow any other outside modification in match play.
Anyone found using any mods of any sort, will be punished accordingly.
|
|
|
|
Post-Match
|
|
Reporting/Confirming
The winner of the match must report the
match by filling in the correct details on the CUGS Report Area on the Site. The
loser then has to confirm the match. It is recommended that the winner inform
the losing team of the battle number to avoid any confusion. The losing player
or unit has 48 hours to confirm a match. If it is not confirmed by then the winning player can contact an admin. The admin will email the losing player about it. If it is still not confirmed the admin will do so . If a battle is reported incorrectly report the
battle again but correctly and then email a results admin asking to void the
battle number that's reported incorrectly and why.
Reporting Substitutes
The player who has
substituted has the choice whether he/she wishes to be included in the final
match report, whether win or loss. If the substitute chooses to be excluded from
the final report, the dropped player must be reported with all the kills that
he/she got, if any. CUGS recommends
that the substitute should be informed of the match situation before he/she
participates.
Sportsmanship
As part of our fair play
scheme, players should acknowledge fair play and always abide by the rules.
Everyone has more fun when players are good sportsman. Complaining and whining
is a sign of bad sportsmanship and just creates a negative atmosphere, which is
what we do not want on the CUGS network.

Breaching of Rules
|
Accusations of Cheating
Never accuse another play
on CUGS of cheating for any reason at all. If you believe someone is cheating
please contact an admin with the reason why and you must have proof in the form
of screenshots and replays.
Modding
Modding is frowned upon strongly.
Tip Toe
False Reporting (FR)
Reporting battles that didn't take place
is another form of cheating. If found reporting false battles, a punishment will
be forced upon. Adding extra kills when reporting is classified as false
reporting and the same punishment will apply.
Profanity
Any form of profanity, foul language or
racism used anywhere on the CUGS site, CUGS forums, or in matches is not
acceptable. If found using these, a punishment will be applied.
Imitation of CUGS Members
Imitating another
member of CUGS or a CUGS admin is an offense and a punishment will be enforced. Including either the LOCKING OR BANNING of a player.
|
|
|
|
Penalties
|
Multiple Callsigns
As a CUGS member you are entitled to one
(1) and only one callsign. If this rule is broken, it is in breach of the CUGS
Terms and Conditions and a punishment will be applied. Any person Owning 2 or
more callsigns
CUGS will only
acknowledge the use of one callsign per player. If a player has multiple
callsigns, then both callsigns will be banned.
Accusations of Cheating
Any accusation of cheating on a member of
CUGS without proof of cheating will be enforced with a 7 day lock and a 2000
point fine to the player or players caught doing so, along with a possible 5000
point deduction to the unit the offender(s) belong to. Multiple offenses will
have increased periods of lock duration. It is at the leagues discretion to
incur a permanent lock on the callsign.
Cheating
Players found to be CHEATING will be locked! You will receive a life time lock from CUGS.
If a player is found to be cheating all matchs up to 3 days from the time they were caught will be voided.
ie. If a MOD is used in a CUGS match this is considered cheating.
Profane Language
We must all be aware that not everyone playing
this game is old. Obsessive use of profane language/cussing after being asked to
stop by any member in the room or TeamSpeak can lead up to a 72 hour lock and a 2000 point
fine to the player or players caught doing so, along with a possible 3000 point
deduction to the unit the offender(s) belong to. To be released from the lock a
written apology must be written to the clan you were competing against.
Screenshots must
be provided from the clan with the complaint. The screenshots must include them
asking the member to watch their language, and screenshots of when the member failed
to ignore to do so.
Imitation
Imitating someone from CUGS is not looked upon lightly. If you are
caught doing so, a permanent lock can be enforced.
Admin Abuse
Administration abuse is something
that all leagues must deal with. However, CUGS will not tolerate excessive abuse
of its staff. All administrative abuse reports will be handled by the lead of
that league. Screenshots of the abuse must be available for both the player and
the lead. After fully reviewing the case, the lead will determine the duration
of the penalty.
Confirming Battles
Those who do not uphold the 48 hour
confirm rule, may be punished if the winner of the battle chooses to do so.
Offenders may be punished up to 1000 personal points for every unconfirmed
battle.
It is the responsibility of every
player participating in CUGS to know and understand the rules. The Administrators
will manage the league in accordance with these rules. In matters not covered
specifically by these rules, the admin will use their discretion.
